Peavey CLASSIC 50 Operating Manual

Sand Land nyazzip said: I’ve owned this one since it was new in the early eighties. No info I’ve been able to find. Overdrive sucks with out pedals. Not all that impressive. When I bought this amp in the eighties it was being touted by Peavey as the poor mans Twin. As far as the clean sound goes I think they got it pretty close.

The original Classic series amplifiers were introduced in the s and were originally called the Peavey ‘Vintage’ series which the first releases used 6C10 tubes in the pre-amp, NOT solid State. The Original Vintage is watts, whereas the and the are only 50 watts The original Classic was a 50 watt amp and two inch speakers and a spring reverb, with two preamps for “clean” and “distortion” channels. They could be used separately, or by plugging the instrument into the “parallel” connection, which fed both preamps, allowing selection of one from the other using a foot switch.

The instrument could also be plugged into the “series” connection, running first through the “clean” channel and feeding that into the “distortion” channel, providing a means of over driving the distortion preamp, creating a much more versatile method of producing distortion. The current line of Classic series amplifiers consist of three variations of the “Classic” model, the Classic 30 , Classic 50 and They use 12AX7 preamp tubes, EL84 power tubes, and have spring reverb tanks.

For mechanical Gibson Deluxe is noted above, I could not tell you more, but they are very precise and takes into tuning. Access in acute is not easy but the solos are feasible with more or less ease. For weight, as I said above, the recess and nail play, but it is very light compared to a traditional LP, your back and shoulders will thank you: SOUNDS As mentioned just above, microphones each have their own personality, of course with a pickup more access to acute and its pretty square and a round neck pickup rather hot, with a system based on the bass, perfect sound for playing the clean.

Rather I play, rock blues, metal, and heavy metal, and it happens to follow me in all these records! Very comfortable on small cushy blues, with a pretty decent sustain, and a very warm sound, even for warm tones it is also very comfortable on the rock Guns N Roses, and even after playing metal, hardcore limit, it also stroll, well proportioned bass as acute, depending on your settings in any case I do not have to worry with some beatdown.

You Gibson quality at your fingertips with a fairly good price. If the choice was to do it again I would do it again, especially for the price, and maybe I would consider the change a little, by putting a pair of active pickups or something like that bouuuh sacrilege: Indeed, the frets were not sanded the edges of the handle and I messed fingers while qques days before the luthier are put order.

I also sanded the handle and it is more pleasant way. I am very happy with this purchase and would do it again without doubt. Today, this log I miss when I play other guitars! Belle has 22 frets, and is equipped with two microphones Gibson for me.

Guitar, bass; tube, solid state. These amps are called solid-state because they use transistors for their preamp and power sections They are very reliable and seldom need repairs. These amps are popular with players looking for a sturdy, reliable touring amp. Most lower cost practice amps are solid state. Most tube amps have separate channels that can switch from clean to distorted tones instantly. Tube performance can deteriorate over time, so tubes need changing occasionally.

Modeling amps use digital processors to simulate the sound of old-fashioned tube technology. Modeling amps are programmable, and often have built-in digital effects such as delay, chorus, etc. Some include digital or analog outputs with speaker simulation for going direct into a recording interface or PA system. Combining the best of each type of amp into one package, these amps use an actual tube in conjunction with the solid state power section of their amps. Many hybrid amps use a tube in the preamp section and solid state circuitry in the power section to create a tube tone without requiring the use of power tubes.

Aug 17,  · Peavey Classic 50 4×10 The good: very nice amp, great fit and finish, great features, great warm clean tone. The bad: as of July these amps are .

Posted 16 June – I had a Delta Blues which was a 30W amp. At home, it didn’t go past 3. It was just too loud. Quite honestly, I’d recommend 30W for gigging. It’s certainly enough power, but it’s not too much. Unless you need a lot of headroom, in which case the 50W would be better, like for jazz and country. As for loudness, every time you double your wattage, you gain 3 decibels in sound. So a 30W is between 2 and 3 decibels quieter than the 50W. Take into consideration that the 50W is only 3 decibels behind a W amp.

Another thing too is that most amps base their wattage on clean power, not with distortion. So technically, that 30W turned up all the way will be a bit louder than 30W. Distortion makes the amp a bit more efficient.
